Swestore/iRODS (Opening in March 2018)
A national storage infrastructure for large-scale research data built on iRODS technology (https://www.irods.org). A time-limited storage allocations are made available through open application procedure, for active research projects.
Access to data is protected using dual copies on two different geographical locations as well as block redundancy (RAID-6 or similar) on the individual storage servers and distributed filesystems. The data is not backed up.
The data can be accessed with multiple access methods, including but not limited to: iRODS native clients, HTTP/HTTPS and WebDAV.
